Actual fabric...

Missing one of the fabric choices. Thinking of making seat covers and placemats with one of the plaids.

Window covering ideas...

Here are some renderings or sketches of ideas for some window coverings...

There will be no photo updates for a while, due to my computer being in the shop. However, I've had some great learning experiences starting this new project. H brought up questions at our consult that I had never thought about. I was so impressed with how prepared she was. I've gone out in search for answers to her questions and have loved every minute. I hope she loves these ideas as much as I do. Did you know that they can pile one slab of granite on top of another, to make a thicker counter?

I have a confession! Since school, probably before even, I have absolutely hated window treatments. That's always the part of the house that I'm nervous about. I made a discovery this week as to why I hate them. I search and I search and get so distressed about not finding anything I like, anything! I've gone to BB&B, JCP, K, and then checked out many millions of websites for hours on end. There are no cute, original, contemporary drapes out there, or really any style. So, in my searching, sketching, and playing around with different fabrics, I'm proud to announce I've had a change of heart. I am loving window treatments! The catch is that I only love custom window coverings. It's so much fun to put fabrics together along with some beads or some other accessory and have this awesome idea come to life.

Stay tuned for some sketches, renderings and photos in the upcoming months!

Wedding... New Experience!

Designs by Pyper had a new, fun experience yesterday! A cousin of mine was getting married, and I volunteered to help. My plan was helping with the food, and that was about it. However, the wedding planner asked if I liked to display things and do stuff like that. I told her I actually do, being an interior designer that comes with the territory. So, while she worked in the room where the wedding was taking place, I got to do the entryway. I do have to say before you look at the pictures, that the entrance/lobby area of this place was a vast array of pretty much nothing with a few odds and ends of antiqued metal or a handcart. Oh, this took place at a nursery/reception center, so we were able to use any of the plants we wanted to. So, without further delay, here are the photos:

PHASE II- HOME STAGING

With the housing market where it is, now is a great time to be buying a home. So, homes will be selling! Home staging is the way to go! If your home is more appealing to the potential buyer, the buyer is more likely to spend the money YOU are asking. I'm excited for this area of Designs by Pyper to take off! Contact me today!

WINDOW TREATMENTS

This is a board displaying some window elevations, with the existing paint and the new fabric choices! The room I designed this for already had chocolate and blush. I branched off of that bringing a little green into had another element.
